I was digging through some stuff in my mom’s garage today and found the old croquet set. When I was a kid, we played croquet all the time- that is, when we weren’t playing the now illegal (in the US) Jarts.
We never played by the actual rules- as a matter of fact, the way we played was far more dangerous than playing Jarts ever was. We’d send the ball flying toward whoever was *not* on our team, hoping to conk them on the shins as hard as possible.
Oddly enough, if i caught my kids playing croquet the way I played it as a kid, I’d kill ‘em. So, even though I was feeling very nostalgic when I pulled out the croquet set, I very quietly put the set back before the kids see.
I do wonder what happened to the Jarts, though.

I have never even heard of jarts. I am kind of into monkey ball. That is fun!

We spent hours playing both croquet and jarts.
