Generally, I do not like to play music when I am outside. I prefer listeing to the sounds around me. The birds are especial favourites.

However, there are those times when I am in the mood but still do not want to block out the other sounds that are part of the outdoors experience. Well this portable speaker featured over at Shaktronics is the answer.

Now you can take yout tunes to the garden, stay unplugged and sing along as you weed and deadhead, sounds like a perfect afternoon. Come to think of it, this may be what I need as I clean and prep the site next door. Music will keep me moving. 

Asters are my choice for the first plant that I will introduce to the site. This took some thought but asters and dandelions are cousins so the asters should do well. Next year, lupines and columbine  will join them.
