    Finally, Some Rain

Flugtag_054I woke up this morning to something totally unfamiliar. I heard the sound of rain on the roof and felt the humidity in the hair. I nearly rolled over to go back to sleep- is there anything more delicious than going back to sleep on a rainy morning?

But there was too much to do, and I wanted to walk out and stand in the rain. My 3 year old and I danced a little in the rain and checked on our plants. They looked surprised to see rain, I think. The orange tree, especially, which has been the only plant I have that is thriving in this drought (I *have* been watering it) looked worse today than it has in weeks. Perhaps it is now overwatered, I don’t know.

What I do know is, I’m sure glad to see the rain.

de-lurking for a moment to say one thing:

    LUCKY!

The forecast here in Kansas keeps promising, but no dice!

It has cooled down a lot here in Missouri. No moisture but about 10 degrees cooler during the day. It looks to be a nice Labor Day weekend.
