I’m thinking about green beans, peas, tomatoes, and other veggies, but I’m also considering what kind of flowers I would like. I have an area in front of my house that is boxed off from when my house was built, that always had bushes, but I tore them out last year. They were really ugly bushes.

So now I need to figure out what I want to put there. I generally stay away from flowers because my daughter and I are allergic to bee stings, and I am afraid of attracting bees. But I do love flowers so much, what’s a girl to do?

Another consideration is that this area stays in the shade for much of the day. So, that’s what I’ll be researching over the next few days, flowers that do well in partial shade. I’m especially going to look for native Tennessee plants. Wish me luck.
