It’s really amazing to think how far we humans have come in the area of cultivation. When I look over seed catalogs, I think about how much real thought it has taken to find a plant, decide it’s asparagus, and then learn to cultivate it and make it a better, stronger plant…well, it’s just amazing.

I mean, think about it. This stuff used to grow wild. And there’s so much knowledge involved- knowledge which used to be common knowledge and now seems to be something gardeners and farmers know, but the general public? Not so much.

I think over time we will see a real resurgence to growing our own food, but it’s still kind of fringe. Still, we do our part.
