    Rocks, Rocks, Everywhere Rocks

RocksI and all my neighbors were done a great disservice by the people who built our houses. Our area is pretty rocky to begin with, but the builders stripped the topsoil and then put down a layer of gravel all over our soil. Then when they seeded our lawns, they just left it that way. It makes for a very "rocky" lawnmowing experience.

I miss the days of being able to walk through the yard and just pluck a few stray rocks from the grass. Now I pull tons of rocks up and end up having rocks shoot out my lawnmower anyway. And I’ve lived in my house for three years! Will it ever end? Anybody want to buy some rocks?

I had this problem after my house was built, since they had to lay a "driveway" of stone in the yard to get the trucks into the backyard to drill the well. The builder was supposed to have the yard landscaped after the fact, which to him apparently meant throwing down grass seed over it! D:< So a few years later I hired a landscaper who came in and put a thick layer of topsoil over it all and more grass seed… I haven't had any rock problems after that. Perhaps you just need another good layer of soil? :)
