I’ve been having a conversation with a neighbor of mine about how our city doesn’t seem to enforce its grass length ordinance. We have a 10 inch or longer ordinance, which is quite tall. Other cities have much shorter grass ordinances, aimed at getting repeat offenders to mow their lawns.
I don’t particularly mind if someone’s grass is getting a littl shaggy, but when their grass is so long it could be harboring snakes or rats, then their rights end where mine begin. And I think I have every right to live in a place where people keep their lawns up so that pests aren’t attracted.
What is your city’s grass ordinance? Are they good about keeping with it, or do they not seem to care?
Ants have been invading just about everyone in my neighborhood’s homes. It’s even in the Tennesseean, the ant invasions are so marked around here. Luckily, in the article, a local bug specialist (I’m not even going to attempt spelling that, ha) has tips on dealing with them.
When we bought our home, one of my qualifications was that it had to have a nice porch. And, the house we bought does indeed have a pretty fabulous porch, but not nearly as fabulous as these on Apartment Therapy. My dream is to someday have a wraparound porch so I can really spread out on my porch.
Tell me, do you spend time on your porch? Do you have one? What are your feelings about porches?
